Whats Included In A Lawn Pod?

  • Lawn Pods can be installed in two ways: factory assembly and craned over the house or modular panel construction.

    If the property has adequate site access, we recommend modular panel construction as it generally works out much more economical. The installation process is non-invasive and swift.

    However, if access is restricted, factory assembly may be a better option as restricted access can limit on-site productivity.

  • FSC structural timber framework is at the core of each Lawn Pod, complying with current building regulations.

    • 2x4 & 2x6 structural stud timbers make up our walls.

    • 2x10 structural timbers make up our roof joists which are cut down to 2x6 to achieve a mono-pitch.

    • 12mm & 18mm hard-faced plywood boarding encase the walls and roof deck.

  • Lawn Pods are well insulated to ensure a warm and comfortable living space all year round. We have a number of insulation packages available to suit our customer’s needs.

  • We include uPVC doors and windows with all Lawn Pods, as they are aesthetically pleasing, practical, and economical. Double glazing ensures a good level of heat retention and sound dampening.

    Controllable trickle vents provide natural background ventilation from all window and door openings.

  • A long-lasting single-ply EPDM roof membrane provides a watertight seal to each Lawn Pod. This rubber roof is a fantastic roof material as it allows for expansion and contraction due to temperature changes and dampening the noise of rainfall.

  • Lawn Pods can be built on a number of foundation types. The foundation can depend on the condition of each individual site so a site survey is recommended.

    For most projects, we recommend a concrete slab but many sites may demand a ground screw foundation which is a non-invasive alternative.

  • All electrical work is carried out by qualified electricians to comply with building regulations.

    • 2-gang sockets

    • Spotlights with low-energy LED bulbs

    • Consumer unit with RCD and MCB protection

    All fittings can be swapped and changed according to your preferences. We can also fit a broadband and TV point and make the power connection to the existing dwelling.

  • Lawn Pod customers have a choice of two optional sources of heating for their Pod: an eco-spec plug-in electrical storage heater or a concealed underfloor heating foil.

    Both options are energy efficient and fully programmable, keeping you cosy without having much of an impact on electricity bills.

  • High-quality and hard-wearing laminate flooring ensure an easy living environment. This floor comes with a 20-year wear warranty and a choice of contemporary styles.

  • We incorporate a skim finish with our experienced plasterers, leaving the walls smooth and ready for painting. A skim finish provides a clean and modern look to the room.

    Painting is an option for customers with a vast range of colours available. Sustainable Eco Paint is also available.

  • We have a range of cladding options available for our customers. From rustic micro shades to high-grade cedar and no-maintenance cladding finishes.

    Anthracite grey doors and windows and colour-matched flashings provide a beautiful contrast to natural timber.

Off-Site Manufacturing:

By incorporating off-site manufacturing, we improve the quality of construction by reducing defects and weather damage. We improve project turnover by allowing our team to work both inside and outside the Pod after the first day on-site, ensuring swift installation with minimal disruption.

Insulation:

Lawn Pods are energy efficient and will be comfortable all year round. Customers can incorporate renewables to provide further savings on heating and electricity.

  • We advise all our customers to contact their local authority concerning planning permission. Most of our Pods do not require planning approval, but we recommend seeking advice from your local authority.

  • A Lawn Pod will be warm and cosy 365 days of the year. Thermally efficient insulations ensure that the Pods are easy to heat and result in exceptional heat retention.

  • A Lawn Pod can be factory assembled and delivered by crane in this case. We can advise you on the best course of action during a free site survey.

  • The maintenance of a Lawn pod can vary depending on what type of cladding is installed. There are timbers that only require maintenance every 10 years and others every 2 years.

    We can offer several attractive maintenance-free cladding options.

  • Our pods feature a robust and silent floor that eliminates any chance of creeping or speaking. What's more, the floor comes fully insulated ensuring a consistently comfortable environment, regardless of the weather outside.
